R E A D I N G
Born September 15, 1887, in London, England. Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., England.
1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, born September 15, 1887, ..., England. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [5276].
3. In giving an interpretation of the records, a great deal is to be chosen from these, yet one outstanding experience, if it would be undertaken by the entity, may bring that which has been longed for by the entity, of an outward expression or material manifestation of divinity manifested in activities of the entity. The why of this may be indicated in the pattern, as to why such an experience would attune the entity in body, mind and soul to the infinite. That to be used in a storm over the moor, or over a rugged mountainside, wind and rain, thunder and lightening. Be out in same. These are the elements which were under the influence of those closest to Him, who is the God of the storm, God of peace, God of the wind, God of the rain, yea the Lord of the earth of whom the Disciples said, "What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the rain, the sea and the elements obey His voice?"
4. Ye followed, ye experienced with Him those facts, those activities, and to be in same again would awaken the closer coordination between body, mind and soul. For as the entity finds, as it analyzes itself, it is in a three-dimensional consciousness in the earth. Hence in self it finds body,
5276-1 Page 2
mind and soul in the material or the earthly experience, or in the expression of the Godhead, it is Father, Son, Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. This, then, is the counterpart or the shadow of that which is expressed or manifested in self. Yet in self it is one, and yet there have been and are periods when confusions arise and when some individual expression has drawn off the entity to seek its activity, even as Moses turned aside to see the bush on fire and yet not consumed.
5. So the entity, as in Moses, finds itself slow in making comprehension; until he had been through those experiences of even being in the presence of the divine, having given to man the outline of the law, and of how man in his relationship to God, in his relationship to his fellow man, in his relationship to himself could say, as must the entity learn, "Say not who will descend from heaven to bring a message, for lo! the whole law is expressed, is manifested, is indicated within one's own consciousness." For the body is indeed the temple of the living God and He hath promised to meet thee there. Open thy consciousness and let it ever be as, not merely in words but in purposes, of hopes, of desires:
6. "HERE AM I, O LORD, USE ME, SEND ME! AND MAY I SEEK ONLY TO DO, TO BE A CHANNEL THROUGH WHICH THY BLESSINGS, THY PROMISES, MAY BE FULFILLED TO MY FRIENDS, MY NEIGHBORS, THOSE ABOUT ME. OTHERS, LORD, OTHERS!"
7. In that attitude and in those manners may the entity fully enter into the more perfect understanding, not seeking something from without but knowing as the body, the mind, the soul-consciousness is attuned by meditation, by prayer to the infinite, the voice, the feeling, the hope may all come to thee.
8. Condemn not thyself for any fault that may have been in others, or for thy having made choices that have apparently brought outer appearances of activities in others not good. Did the Master condemn self for the ways among men? rather, "Of myself I can do nothing, only as the spirit of truth and of the Father may work in and through me, may I become one with His purposes with me."
9. And He, my friend, is the pattern. He is thy brother, He is thy Lord. In Him ye live and move and have thy being.
10. As to the activities in the earth, all may not be indicated, but these are those ye may see in the pattern of self, as have been the promptings through the experiences in the earth:
11. Before this we find the entity was among those who came to the land of the entity's present sojourn for seeking a
5276-1 Page 3
manner in which they could of themselves worship God according to the dictates of their own consciousness, in the ways and means and manners as their heart dictated, and not as others would prompt.
12. Thus we find the entity was in the environ of that now known as or called "the city of brotherly love" and the entity was among those who were close in the relationships to those who were in authority. For the entity was the companion or the wife of one Georgia Penn, and was then in the name Cecelia.
13. In the experience the entity made for unfoldments and yet many of these became, as it were, as narrow as those from which the entity had sought relief. And yet, as oft found in human experience, that we condemn in others is, to be sure, the reflection of that which is error in one's own self.
14. Before that we find the entity was in the activities, in the experiences, when there were those administrations indicated in the Holy Land, when the Master walked in the earth.
15. And the entity was among those groups chosen as companions upon many of the missions which the master took.
16. The entity was then in the name of Mathias, not Matthew, but Mathias. The entity saw that experience of the wind, of the storm, the elements, the thunder, the lightning obey the voice of the master; and thus may the entity find an attunement in same in the present. The entity was a man, or of the opposite sex, in that experience, and this causes much of the distress, as well as the ability to become most of the man in its thought and in its expression with others.
17. Before that we find the entity was in the English land when the peoples from the Holy Land were taking hold on the land. The entity was with those people who sought refuge in what is now the English land, and in and about what is now Somerset. The entity was with the groups who had come from even the temple watch in Jerusalem, who established the outer courts or the temple for individual service and activity, as well as the altars which have long since been torn away and yet there are evidences of these having been set up in a form of a court and an inner court for the admonitions and the directions and encouragements to peoples who would learn the lord.
18. So, in the present, as the entity seeks may it give in its writings, in its communications and teachings, the more important things, or as indicated in the admonitions which were received by Martha when there were the choosings by Mary of the more important things. For, as has been
5276-1 Page 4
indicated, seeking first the kingdom of heaven, then may all these things of the material world be added unto thee. For He, thy Father-God, knoweth what ye have need of even before ye ask Him. Ask and ye shall find Him, knock and it is opened unto thee. Even as He knocks at thy heart may ye hear and open, that He may enter.
19. The name then was Puella.
20. Before that the entity was in England with the daughters of Hezekiah. We find the entity was in the wilderness with the children of Israel and journeyed from the Egyptian land to the Holy Land.* The entity was among those who were in the company of Korah, not among the children destroyed but aware of the activities which brought about that destruction; and thus fear, thus a fear that is not born of man's search for God, a fear born of what others do, and what others think and how it affects the activities of the entity itself. * [GD's note: In reviewing this reading I am sure these two sentences should be one: "Before the entity was in England with the daughters of Hezekiah, we find the entity was in the wilderness with the children of Israel and journeyed from the Egyptian land to the Holy Land." I did not do the original transcription of this reading.]
21. In the name then Judeth, the entity gained and lost. For the entity held grudges among its own fellow man.
22. As to the abilities of the entity, then, that to which it may attain and how:
23. Seek first the kingdom of heaven within. Apply the tenets and truths which are indicated in thy change. Love the Lord with all thine heart and mind and soul and thy neighbor as thyself.
24. In the adminstrations and in thy teachings keep the faith. Do the writing which has been a part of the contemplated activity and ye will return soon to services through those experiences in thy homeland; where in the fall, conditions will be much changed there.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) What brought about the conditions of hurt that came to me through the boy whom I loved - who went out of his mind for twelve months? (A) Those experiences in the Holy Land, when among the daughters of Korah and the companions with the friends and family.
27. (Q) What can I do to make up for the blame I feel regarding this? (A) As has been indicated, blame not self. Say, as did the
5276-1 Page 5
Master on the Cross, and let it be blotted away: Remember it not more, even as He, the Father, remembers no more. For remember, He can only forget and forgive as we forgive ourselves, as well as others.
28. (Q) Why do I feel responsible for my sister [...] committing suicide? Would my return to England have prevented this? (A) Not responsible, but these are condemnations, as has been indicated, arising from experiences in the earth; but leave them where they belong. Let the dead past bury its dead.
29. (Q) How can I be assured that my coming to U.S.A. to study Unity was a wise move? (A) It isn't necessarily an assurance which is needed. Rather is it needed that ye apply personally in thy daily life and conversation the good ye have gained, and thus ye may be assured, in seeking the application and truth that are of God's making in the lives of others.
30. (Q) Although my time is filled with voluntary work, why did I not feel happy in my activities? (A) Read what has been given. Know that there must be the full awakening that the power is within and for thy use by His grace and in His presence.
