Time of Reading Set bet. 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., New York.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5391].
3. As we find, considering the general conditions of the body and the activities which have been indicated, there are many good reactions in the body. There are inclinations and tendencies from pressures in certain portions of the circulation which cause the body at seasons to be allergic to activities upon the mucous membranes of nasal passages and throat, as susceptible to certain pollens or certain odors which become offensive to the body, causing a form of rose fever or hay fever which produces a temperature and irritation to the nasal passages and the bronchi and the upper circulation of throat and larynx.
4. These, as we find, may be controlled by the change in climatic conditions, or these may be materially aided by certain adjustments in the brachial plexus and through the cervicals, which control the circulation between the sympathetic nervous system and the circulation to head, nasal passages and throat and using, as an antiseptic, the fumes from certain combinations of properties which would cause the body to be less susceptible to this irritation.
5. These would be well for the body, irrespective, in keeping the alkalinity and the acidity of the body in a better balance also. This would be made in the combination such as this, putting the ingredients together in the order named. If these were reversed they would have quite a different effect upon this body, or what might be good for others would be adverse to the conditions with this body. Prepare a large-mouth, six ounce bottle which may be

prepared with two vents in the cork so that both of these may be corked yet neither of the corks entering into the solution, but into the space above the solution. Add the following together in the order named: Pure Grain Alcohol (90% proof).....4 ounces, Oil of Eucalyptus.................20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp..............5 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin......20 minims, Oil of Pine Needles...............10 minims, Tolu in Solution..................30 minims.
6. Shake these together, for the solution in the combination will stand suspended, but when shaken together they give off their fumes for evaporation. Inhale into the nasal passages, and do not do this too much, but when there is any irritation or when there is the tendency for throat or nasal passages to be uncomfortable.
7. Thus we will find, we will allay the conditions and aid in keeping a better balance in the alkalinity of the body.
8. Made the corrections osteopathically as indicated in the brachial and upper cervical areas.
9. These measure would be used through the seasons when there are the pollens, or the keeping out of the areas to be sure would be advisable at times.
10. Ready for questions.
11. (Q) What is the cause of spastic attacks I have had for twenty years? (A) The condition in the circulation which has been indicated, which exists in the brachial centers and especially in the 3rd cervical center. If these adjustments are given we would lose those tendencies for the improper circulation along the centers where cerebrospinal and sympathetic nerve forces are the more active or coordinate the more, thus relieving the tensions upon any locomotory activity.
12. (Q) Could these attacks be called epileptic? (A) They could be called epileptic, but these are rather the incoordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems. There are, to be sure, some of those congestions in the lacteal duct and the gall duct area, but these are not of the nature which go with the epileptic or the falling illness.
13. (Q) What caused my feet to swell this summer? (A) The circulation which has been cut off by the pressures in 3rd cervical and in the reflex to the 4th lumbar. The corrections and the releasing of the tensions in these in the osteopathic manner will bring better conditions and
5391-1 Page 3
better circulation for the body.
14. (Q) Is that what causes my extremely dry skin? (A) Increasing the internal circulation and lack of the lymph through the superficial circulation. Yes, these contribute to this.
15. (Q) Is this also affecting the eyesight? (A) There pressure in the brachial center or the sympathetic centers to the sensory organism. As you will find also that things don't taste just as they used to, neither does the hearing respond just as it used to, but with these corrections, stimulating the circulation, coordination established between sympathetic and cerebrospinal in brachial centers, the first, second and third cervical centers and in the dorsal areas and lumbar or more particularly in the lumbar axis, we will find bettered conditions for the body. Do that.
16. (Q) Is the osteopath preferable to the chiropractor? (A) The osteopath rather than the chiropractor. There are good chiropractors; there are better osteopaths for corrections. While each has his place, here, as we find, is indicated the osteopath so that there may be the massage which goes with correcting along the segments in the cerebrospinal system and not stimulating the emunctory activity in the areas where cervicals and sympathetic produce coordinating centers. Such is better done usually by the osteopath. If he recognizes such it is well done - if he doesn't know where they are he isn't much good - choose a good one!
17. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one for Dr. George N. Coulter, 18 E. 41st St., N.Y.C.) Copy to Ass'n file " for indexing (See illustration [which was enclosed] of type bottle to be prepared for this inhalant.)
