1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5431] - this we have had before. Now, as we find, with the changes that have come about, some conditions are not so good. It may be expected, with the natural changes, that the vitality of the conditions - or the body itself - may vary considerable, according to the variations in the temperature, in the activities, and in the excitements that may come about the body from time to time. The effect of these, as with those conditions that have existed in the body as a humor in blood from infectious forces, is active at present in the NERVE forces of the body. These, then, produce considerable irritation, taking up the vitality. In that respect conditions have retrogressed somewhat.
2. We find that the body will respond better to quiet, and occasionally the manipulations necessary to make for a RELAXING of the vasomotor forces especially of the body; that is, the internal nerve supply, see? and especially in those centers where the sympathetic and cerebrospinal make accord. These may be done osteopathically or chiropractically; IF the chiropractor will make each center respond one with another and not attempt to react from those three special centers, but all centers where sympathetic and cerebrospinal make their principal connections - as the 4th dorsal, the last of the lumbar, the last of the coccyx and sacral. The 11th and 12th dorsal, 9th and 10th dorsal, 7th and 8th dorsal, 4th dorsal, 5th and 6th cervical, 3rd and 4th cervical - and at the 1st and 2nd.
3. Then we would find also that a bathing or sponging of the body with water containing Lysol (a tablespoonful of Lysol to two gallons of water) will be very effective in reducing those irritations in the portions of the body itself.
4. Be mindful that there are not fats taken in the system as portions of the diet, especially while these manipulations are being kept, which we would give every other day for a
5431-4 Page 2
period - at present anyway. We would keep more on a diet of fruit juices, green and cooked vegetables. These well balanced throughout will find an activity that will be more effective with the body.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) Are there parasites on the surface of the skin? (A) These are more those conditions WITHIN the system that PRODUCE these on the surface, see? The effectiveness of this will be reduced by the relaxations that we have given, that there may be the activity of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal nervous system through that HUMOR which has been existent in the system, WITH the applications of the Lysol over the system in bathing off the skin. Then, if we will keep away from the fats or oils, and not have too much of the starches, but those that are well balanced more with the fruit juices that make for a form of acid and the accumulations of forces in system in fermentation of juices of fruits, nuts, vegetables and the like, these will burn UP - as it were - those effects that are created.
7. (Q) How often should she be bathed and linens changed? (A) At least every second or fourth day.
8. (Q) How often should the Lysol sponge be given? (A) Each time this is given, until these conditions are allayed.
9. (Q) Just exactly what proteins should she have to strengthen her? (A) Those that will give the greater amount of strength will be those juices from liver, juices from tripe (or this may be taken itself, provided it is not cooked in grease). Then those juices that come from nuts and from fruit. Nuts especially will be strengthening to the body. No other character of oils.
10. (Q) What laxative foods should be given? (A) If these are kept in this way and manner they will act as laxatives, see?
11. (Q) Did we fail in anything? (A) More the excitement and the nervous tension that has caused the relapses, see? Do these as we have outlined. In making these releases along the spine, if made chiropractically they will be as adjustments in these centers - but make them in all of them! If they are made as by an osteopath, then they will be GENERAL manipulations and the SPECIFIC centers relaxed in those that make for the better eliminations, and the better stimulation of the reaction in sympathetic and cerebrospinal nervous distribution.
