1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [5433]. Now, we find conditions physical are not for the best in the functioning of the organs and of physical forces of the body. In the distresses as are seen in the physical, these, we find, in their inception, are of rather long duration in disturbances in the body, and - as seen - have become acute, through pressure and poisons created in the system by hindrances in nominal or normal eliminations. The pressure existed first; the tendency to produce disturbances in the organs of system is produced from the pressure; the poisons and acute conditions result from the combination of these.
2. In the upper dorsals do we find the seat or the cause of disorder, and is of a lesion in the nerve system, rather than clots in the blood stream proper, as is indicated by the character of the disorders in the locomotion of body, in the facial tic or expression, and distortion. These show the effect of a sympathetic cardiac plexus lesion. Hence the excessive pressure brought about in the blood supply, the CLARIFYING of impulses so far as MENTAL body is concerned - yet inability of the body to carry OUT impulses as received in system, or for the organs of locomotion to function nominally. Not wholly of a SYMPATHETIC lesion, but only partially so. This mostly indicated in the 5th, 4th and 6th dorsal area, or plexuses in same. This has BEEN produced from a condition existent in a greater period back, as may be found in the 2nd and 4th LUMBAR area. Hence the disturbance in locomotion, more as a toto in lower portion of body, and a REVERSE condition in the UPPER portion of the body, or face, neck and arms. In the manner in which the poisons have accumulated, these come from auto-intoxication, from the lack of peristaltic movement of the intestinal tract, and from FORCING of activities in the upper portion of digestive system, making an accumulation that has acted as a barrier to the body.
3. In meeting, then, the needs in the present: True, that
5433-1 Page 2
sedative measures are necessary under ACUTE conditions, but - as WE would find - were these changed from those of morphia to those that will be more active with the whole of the respiratory system, and with the eliminations as effective through the hepatic circulation, assisting the kidneys and the liver in a NORMAL direction, without producing counter-irritation - these would be more effective, less harmful to the cerebrospinal system, and less pain to the body. We would take THESE, preferably, internally. This as a dose, and after the third day, it will only be found necessary to be given occasionally. This as a dose, under the supervision of physician - in capsule: Eucalyptol, Oil of..............1 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp.........1/2 minim, Rectified Creosote, or PREFERABLY Benzosol........1/2 minim, Codeine......................1/60 grain. Do not prepare more than three doses at a time, for they will disintegrate after a few days, even though kept cool and in a dry place. Do not give more than one dose during any twenty-four hours, but the MORPHIA may be ELIMINATED - and these, we will find - the Eucalyptol active with the respiratory system and a reducer in the blood or heart's pressure; the Turp as an active force with the digestive system, and especially active with the kidneys, as to produce eliminations nearer normal in this direction; and those of the Benzosol as a stimuli to the gastric forces of the assimilating system; Codeine as a sedative in a nature that will act through the PNEUMOGASTRIC, as well as HYPOGASTRIC nerve centers, hence EASING the body in a more normal manner.
4. The eliminations, as related to the alimentary canal, should be through that of the enemas, as will gradually relieve those pressures in the colon and intestinal system, and aiding in keeping the reduction in the heart's action and lower pressure; not BELOW normal in blood pressure.
5. In the diet, take more of those foods that will carry a food value for the intestinal system itself. After the enemas, be sure there are small quantities - three to four ounces - of oil used as an injection, to prevent prolapsus of the colon proper; and that these may also aid in reduction of pressure. Take, IN the food values, those - occasionally - that are INTESTINAL antiseptics, in the form of Glyco - three to five drops. In the FOODS for the body, these - if we carry more of a REPLENISHING for the blood
5433-1 Page 3
supply - will AID most materially. As much olive oil as the body will assimilate, taken in very minute doses - quarter or half teaspoonful at a time. Do not take so much that the body belches, or that there is regurgitation of same. In the small quantities it will be assimilated. Beef juices (not broths) will be helpful, taken in small quantities, and strengthening to the body, as would be those of light wines or champagne - in a COOLED nature - to give a proper stimuli to the system.
6. Reduce by manipulative measures, gently - until the body gains more strength and vitality, and use of self - those conditions in the lumbar and dorsal region, equalizing the flow or pressure to the head and neck through GENTLE massage, but not by too deep or by CORRECTIVE measures of the bones proper. While these MUST be accomplished, for a PERMANENCY of relief, these would come later.
7. Do this, as given, at present. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Should any osteopathic treatments be given? (A) This, as has been outlined - that, with the manipulations these should be given for the reduction of conditions in lumbar and dorsal, for this will keep - or PREVENT a reoccurrence of a too full flow of nerve energy AND blood to the head, and REDUCE the blood pressure as CAUSES the tic.
9. (Q) What is the seat of the paralysis of left arm and leg, and the remedy? (A) This, as has been given - first condition existent in the 2nd lumbar, 4th lumbar - this for the axis of the lower limbs - then the pressures as brought to bear through the intestinal system, and poisons and accumulations in system making a pressure upward brought about the lesion in the upper dorsal region, as signified in the 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal area, as CAUSES that un-usefulness, or the pressure that prevents the use through the brachial forces in the arm, REVERSING itself - as seen - in those of the facial reactions; this coming to the right side of face, while pressures in the cerebrospinal come most to the left side. Hence that as given, a PARTIAL pressure is seen in the sympathetic system.
10. (Q) Is this a permanent condition, or will it be followed by other strokes? (A) If we will remove these pressures, remove these conditions - a NEARER - not a perfect, but a nearer normal control of body may be gained, and should NOT be followed by other strokes - for this is NOT clot, but rather poisons and accumulations and pressures on PLEXUSES.
11. (Q) How long will it take?
5433-1 Page 4
(A) There should be - in four to five DAYS - a decided improvement. In five to six weeks considerable, and a great deal improvement. Then it would depend upon general conditions and surroundings.
12. (Q) What was cause of former facial paralysis? (A) The same condition as we have given here. Poisons, pressures, from the diaphragm region - which affected directly those of the secondary cardiac plexus center; NOT the cardiac centers as pertain to carotid artery and the blood supply in heart itself - as governs that of the cardiac plexus of the aesophagus to stomach proper, but that more as reflects to those of the central nerves to the face itself, through the 5th dorsal center, as radiate through the plexus along the cervical center. Pressure on the diaphragm produced same, raising the heart pressure and producing it.
13. (Q) Has the former facial paralysis anything to do with the present stroke? (A) An aftermath of same, without the causes being removed.
14. That is all the questions.
15. We are through for the present. Copy to Daughter " " Ass'n office " " Research Department " " Cayce Hospital " " Dr. [957] - (who promised to take the reading and discuss it with Mrs. [5433]'s daughter)
