1. GC: You will give a physical and mental reading for this body, with suggestions for the improvement of either, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding these.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5439], (as the name called). Now, we find the body very good in many respects, physically and mentally. There are rather conditions of that as is minor in the physical functioning at present, bring about a better condition in the physical, and furnish the channel through which the mental AND spiritual may manifest; for the body-physical is truly the temple through which the mental and the spiritual and soul development must manifest, and in manifestation does the growth come; not only in knowing, not only being conscious of such conditions existent, but in the application, in the doing, does the growth mentally and spiritually come. These conditions then, we find physical, with this body - [5439] we are speaking of, present in this room:

3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find evidences of conditions as to which the body may be termed heir apparent. That is, the conditions as create the disorders that may bring distresses for the body. Through that condition as of fear is there ever created the combative element as MUST be ELIMINATED from the system, and in the eliminating channels may the disorders, distresses to the body, become the manifested condition; for (we would reason now as reasonable conditions) there are MANY channels through which eliminations are carried on. First, in the respitory [respiratory] system. This NOT merely the de-oxidization being thrown off through the breath, or through the clarifications of the blood stream as it flows to the lungs for the oxygen necessary to carry on certain conditions within the physical body, but also that of the whole of the exterior, or that of the lymphatic circulation, and through the various pores of the system. Also that in the liver, or through the alimentary canal. THESE, at present, suffer the

5439-1 Page 2

most - for, as seen, the blood supply flows twice through the liver to any other portion of the system, and in the left lobe, or the smaller lobe of same, do we find those conditions as represent disorders, as are affected by the splenic, and this lobe, or portion of lobe of the liver - for the liver being both excretory and secretive in its functioning, then acts upon the system in a more than twofold manner. The spleen being the destructive organ for the dead red blood corpuscles, also the organ that works WITH - as it may be termed - the imaginative, or the psychic forces OF the body; and the body being super-sensitive, or super-psychic in many respects, finds THIS portion often gives rise to not ONLY the fears, but also those DISTRESSES as affect the VEGETATIVE nerve system. The vegetative nerve system HERE meaning, that portion to which the whole of the assimilating system is related to that of the digestive and its assimilation by the body. Also that elimination as is carried on through the opposite pole - the kidneys. These are the channels through which the body, unless care and attention is given, that the distresses may arise. There are times that disorders - not disease, but disorders - arise in system from this unbalancing, and when these DO arise, they usually appear with that of the disorders as come from over-acidity, or the super-activity of the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus; for these being regulated by the activity of the sympathetic as WELL as cerebrospinal, give rise to the expressions of the dullness in head, fullness in throat, the mis-direction in the mucus producing tissue in bronchia, nasal cavities, antrum, and those conditions where soft tissue becomes involved. These are merely signposts, not causes - not the reactions, even. Rather those WARNINGS as to disorders, or distresses, as come to the physical.

4. In correcting, then, the physical - the body has and does care WELL for the physical. Not so much by properties taken WITHIN the system as medicinal properties, but in the manner of thought, in the manner of care for the system, in the manner of repressions and exhilarations as are given or taken for the system under such distresses; yet these may be carried so far as to over balance, and would these be kept in the nearer balance by the proper application of those vibratory forces as may be created in the system as to REDUCE that repression in the central nerve system, especially as regulated to the liver and the spleen - these may be guarded against and the better conditions come about. These may be BEST had by the applications, as have been taken, as are being taken at times, of the massage, of those

5439-1 Page 3

reactions to the exterior portion - but adding WITH same those of the changeable lights. The ultra violet, the Infra red, those of the Nile green, those of the orange, and so on - in their various orders - dependent upon that condition, whether necessary for the reaction in the liver - as to an excretory or as a secretive functioning, or as to be made positive in its action or to be made negative in its action. These will keep the better conditions for this body, [5439].

5. Now, in the mental forces - and as related to fear in the system: Fear the greatest bugaboo to the human elements, for in fear comes those conditions that destroy that vitality of that assimilated. To OVERCOME fear, so fill the mental forces with that of the creative nature as to cast out fear; for he, or she, that is without fear is free indeed, and perfect love casteth out fear. Love not that as is of the officious nature, or that that demands in exchange. Rather given as the free will, and MAKING the will one with that which will enable the body mental to see, experience, to know, to feel, that nearer and nearer the will of the body made one with that the body worships - and let that worshipfulness be of OTHER than of self; for MANY a body stumbles and blinds self by putting self first and foremost.

6. The mental developments should be in the direction of the directing play, writing play, writing book, writing song - for THESE may give an OUTLET of self to MANIFEST that which the body, the mental BEING, may hold as ideal. FIND an ideal! Do not lose self in the individual, nor in the self-centered interest, but rather in that that the body, the body mental, the body spiritual, may make an ideal. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) What books can the body read to help improve her talents for writing? (A) Tacitus, or Plato, or such - for the entity [was] associated with Plato, and the rise and fall of same would mean much.

8. (Q) Shall I write with someone else, or shall I write by myself? (A) Fear enters here, when the entity attempts to write alone - but WRITE alone, and keep that NEAR self as the IDEAL, when doing so. Be not afraid to really express those children of the mental body as flow in, in meditation, for these - in use - will grow and will not destroy self, will they but be tendered by the love of the Creator, or of the body itself.

9. (Q) Is the body necessary to her husband's business? Is it advisable for her to return to the business? (A) Would be advisable that at LEAST in the advisory

5439-1 Page 4

capacity the body see much MORE of same than it has recently; but to return to same would be to smother self's own endeavors, and self's own personality, self's own INDIVIDUALITY would also suffer. Well were the body mental, the body spiritual of this body, [5439], to find the definite answer that would answer self of that BETWEEN individuality and personality; for one is to be seen of another, the other is to be carried to THAT that may be its God.

10. (Q) Shall she make a success of writing? What is the best way to go about it? (A) Write, first, alone. Write in that manner as of REARING the children of the mental being. Be not afraid of these, for these will NOT destroy the personality - but will CERTAINLY enlarge the INDIVIDUALITY and soul of the body.

11. (Q) Will the business come back successfully without the body? (A) With her ADVICE, would come back! With her COUNSEL, come back!

12. (Q) What attitude should she take toward her husband? (A) Not merely of duty's tolerance, but that of helpfulness; for one is as NECESSARY to the other as is that of ANY condition where there are two poles. REMEMBERING that, even in the atom its polarization is necessary, or the energy is soon expended. So, in that union of body, in the mental being, in the physical being - for the resuscitation of life elements - that they become as necessary for one another. Such conditions do arise at times when these DO NOT need to be as polarizations, but for the better, the bigger, the BROADER, the greater DEVELOPMENT of each, these are NECESSARY one to another.

13. (Q) Am I under sexed? (A) No, NOT under sexed. Rather have the studies of the mental being, as related to these elements in the system, caused or brought about conditions in which the condition in system does NOT RESPOND in some directions; yet the body often finds in self that these DO respond UNDER certain environs or certain conditions. Be able to control these as well AS the body HAS in other directions!

14. (Q) What causes the burning sensation from chest through throat? (A) This, as has been given, is that attempt of the system to adjust itself to that condition existent in spleen, and a portion of the liver at times. The application of the vibrations in the varied lights, as have been given, will EQUALIZE the circulation, relieving this condition in the central nerve system. See that these are applied in the

5439-1 Page 5

order named. Ultra violet for the superficial portion of system. Infra red the second day, or third day - or one may be taken one week, one another. The Infra red that the central system, through the soft tissue of bone, wherein the accumulation of red blood cells form an active influence with the system. Of the green, that the actuation of the sympathetic with the cerebrospinal nervous system may be generated in their normal order. Of those of the orange, that there may be the separation in the system of those of white and red blood, or of the lymphatics WITH the EMUNCTORY reaction in the capillary.

15. (Q) Where would this treatment be given? (A) Health Room Laboratories [See [165] series, especially 165-17], or Gordon - these are both in the city. [Harold J. Reilly, The Reilly Service, 1908 Broadway, N.Y.C.? See 5439-1, Par. R1.]

16. (Q) Will the body be a success at writing? (A) I would say, she would! Possibly not in the first efforts, but the second and third - wonderful! We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n office " " Cayce Hospital
