1. EC: Yes, we have the body, Mrs. [5492]. Now, we find there are abnormal conditions that may be aided and the near normal functioning brought about for this body. These have to do principally with the eliminations and the effects definite - and the effects sympathetic - that have been created in the system by this condition existent for a long period. In the varying effects, we find both tissue and functioning organs involved, and these - in a manner - have separated themselves in their activity in the system, thus producing rather the effect of a SEMI-constitutional condition; yet this may be aided, will the seat or cause of the condition be abated. The eliminations first produced a form of toxic poison. The poison, finding lodgement in the system - varying in the functioning of the organ attacked - finds that these being aided apparently weakens other portions. Hence the conditions as have existed in extremities and the locomotaries, and then that existent in lung and throat and head, as separate and district conditions, but the basis of the condition the same.
2. In the blood, this deficient in some respects, in others over active, yet the activity of the body mentally and physically has much to do WITH the distresses as they affect the system. NOT wholly that of a neurotic condition, though the nerves and their tributaries as related to functioning organs, have much to do with the distresses brought about in the system, and these - as they magnify themselves in the functioning of organs - have not produced organic disturbances, save as is affected to the mucus producing portions of the system - as in face and bronchia, and the depression there. This, however, comes more from the pressure as existent in the dorsal and lumbar regions than from that of the distress produced by the disturbance brought about, for in the first form we had a catarrhal condition; then we had that of depression; then we had that of temperature; then we had those of the effect of the
5492-1 Page 2
uremic condition; then that of the effect as from the metabolism being destroyed in the functioning of the eliminations as related one to another.
3. Now, to meet the needs, we would first give that as medicinal properties as would change the depressions in the system as related to the vibratory forces created. This we would take for at least two weeks before we would begin with the other changes for the body, for we would create a different effect in the BLOOD supply. Prepare, then, as a compound, as this:
4. To one (1) gallon of rain water, or distilled water, add: Wild Cherry Bark.......................6 ounces. Reduce this by simmering, slow simmering, to one-half (1/2) the quantity. Then add 4 ounces of beet sugar and reduce to 1/2 the quantity again, STIRRING same most of the time that there may be no change in the character produced by the properties in sugar and in the juice from the barks, as to change it, as a form of burn. This as a carrier. To this we would add: Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla.......1/2 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia...............1/4 ounce, Syrup of Rhubarb.....................1/4 ounce, Elixir Calisaya......................1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras......................40 minims, Fluid Extract of Burdock..............40 minims. Shake solution well together before the dose is taken, and the dose would be teaspoonful 4 times each day.
5. Use as a spray for nostrils and throat a weakened solution of Dobell's solution - half and half - used in spray. This at least once each day.
6. After these have been taken for the required time, begin then with the manipulations - OSTEOPATHICALLY given - as will correct those lesions as exist in the centers close about the radial plexuses of the lower and upper system, or the brachial and the locomotaries of the lower portion - or sciatic centers.
7. We would also be careful of the diet. Let these be rather of the alkalin reacting. The JUICES of meats, however, may be taken. NOT the flesh, save fowl or wild game, and not GREAT quantities of this.
8. We would begin also, when the manipulations are given, to use as a stimuli those of small quantities of brandy to which a small quantity - or this proportion: To 4 ounces of
5492-1 Page 3
apple brandy add Oil of Juniper 10 minims. The dose of this would be, or when taken, about half teaspoonful whenever there is irritation.
9. We would keep also those of the sprays until the throat and lungs are cleared.
10. Do not OVERTAX system, physically or mentally. We will find bettered conditions for this body, [5492].
11. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n office " " Cayce Hospital
