1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5514]. Now we find there are those conditions with the physical forces of the body that cause at times distresses in the functioning of the system. These, as we find, have to do with the eliminations and the effect that the particular character of distress in same has created in the functioning of organs, as related with this functioning in the body.
2. These, then, are conditions as we find with this body, [5514] we are speaking of. First:
3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this in the general characteristic is that condition of where, with improper relation of the elements in blood - through the condition left in system by the non-functioning of some organs, bring about an over abundant of one element and a lesser amount in another, creating a form of anemia in that particular direction, yet full in other directions, and with a creating of a balance would bring about the very near normal forces of the system.
4. As to the cause and that producing same, we will see in the functioning of organs.
5. In the effect as produced in the nerve system, here we have reflexes that are indications of conditions as are existent in the body as disturbing elements. Not that the conditions in the nerve system is the cause; rather the RESULT, and signify much of the existent condition, though the nerve system oftentimes is under stress. From other than purely the physical cause we have distresses in the mental and the sympathetic, that has had its part in bringing about distressing forces for the system. These merely at the time, as we see, produced an accentuation of condition and not the cause. These radiate particularly from the lower dorsal plexus and from that of the lower lumbar plexus. These are then in sympathy with conditions existent in the organs as function through the digestive system.
6. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, the sensory organism show good
5514-1 Page 2
reflex from the upper nerve plexus. Those from the activities in brain and the organs of the head good in their reaction.
7. Throat, bronchials, lungs, larynx, these show at times reflexes sympathetically - especially in the throat and bronchial, with the tendency of clearing or clarifying the condition of the attempt of the elimination through those of the system as eliminate through the pulmonaries, to discharge or throw off poisons as come to that portion of system for elimination; yet these are merely indexes, not disturbing conditions.
8. The digestive system - here we find HAS been the greater cause or seat of the trouble.
9. The heart's action, as is produced in system from that of the combination of the pressure produced from disturbances in the upper hepatic circulation; that is, the liver and the lower portion of the digestive system, as through that of the duodenum and its activity with the juices as are secreted in system to cause the proper assimilation. The LIVER, then, the seat or the causes of conditions, as reflex and as direct. These produce, as we see, the coldness as comes to the extremities, through the hepatic circulation being raised above normal, calls the blood supply from the system and produces in the extremities those of the effect of the improper change between the arterial and the venous circulation. In the change as is produced in the ducts, this in the assimilation producing that condition as gives the differentiation in the supply of the blood forces as would rebuild properly. From this same digestive condition there is produced the headaches, the pains as come to the base of brain and to the frontal portion of the central nerve and blood supply to the brain and to the upper part of the body. In the natural reflex through the disturbance in the upper hepatics, there is brought to the system those of distresses through the activity of the kidneys in their functioning. This rather that of a reflex than of an organic disturbance, though functional disturbances are existent with the attempts of the system to produce the normal eliminations through the system, as is brought under strain from the inactivity of the liver to function with the rest of the elimination in the body.
10. Now, to meet the needs of these conditions in the system, to enliven that vibratory force as is necessary to bring about the normalcy in the liver secretion, would be to do that as would produce for the ducts of the liver and the excretory functioning of it that as would produce assimilation there. Then we will find that it would be
5514-1 Page 3
necessary for at least once each day, for at least five to six days, to apply those packs of the pure oil of the Castor bean that will enliven and soften the system so that there may be the proper eliminations through these ducts. We would also, after these have been given, give those of the proper manipulations as to cause the functioning of both the upper and lower hepatic circulation to coordinate one with another. These we would apply in the osteopathic manner, first relaxing the body through the dorsal and lumbar region with wet packs and HEAT applied to same. Fifteen to twenty such adjustments and treatments should be given. FOLLOWING these conditions we would begin with emits, or the effect of same through medicinal properties as would be in a combination of these, to give the proper reaction in the vibratory forces created in the digestive system. We would take first plain garden sage (dried) 4 ounces, adding to this 8 ounces of distilled water. Reduce by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Then add 10 grains ambergris dissolved in 1 ounce pure grain alcohol. Then add to this solution 2 ounces of simple syrup - but the syrup made of BEET syrup, NOT cane sugar - with 5 drops of Oil of Juniper, with 3 drams of Cinnamon (preferably in the stick). Shake the solution well together before the dose is taken, which would be a teaspoonful an half an hour before the meals.
11. As for the diet, this the main condition to be followed closely when these corrections are being made and the properties for the correction of the vibratory forces would be followed out. Whole wheat, or those of the rougher character should be that as should be taken for the system. Those of juices, and fruits and of vegetables that have an alkalin reaction. Very little of acid that would be added in system, save through that of the protein that would give acid reaction.
12. Following these closely and systematically, and consistently, we will find in six to eight weeks we should be near normal, [5514]. Do that. We are through for the present. Copy to Cayce Hospital
