1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5516]. Now, we find the abnormal conditions as are produced in the physical forces of the body are from strain under which the body has labored, both mentally and physically, and with the taxation of the system in a physical and mental manner has produced an unbalancing of the system, or an equilibrium that is an unbalanced condition; the stress being the greater in the general nervous systems, until there is produced an irritation in the capillary circulation from the lack of proper coordination in the eliminating forces of the body. There is also produced in the digestive system a lack of the proper coordinating forces in the gastric juices of the stomach, so that an excess of the acidity is produced, until we have a torpidity in liver secretions, as far as both the excretory and secretive forces necessary for proper eliminations and proper distribution of forces in the body. These are natural, to produce their reflex forces in the nervous forces of the body, producing those pains as had in the extremities, as into the fingers, or the joints in the limbs, hips, and the headaches as occur from same; as well as reflex forces to the sensory organism, which produces those irritations in eyes, ears, nose, throat, and to the feelings of the body.

2. These, then, are as of a general debilitation, and are more the earmarks of disturbances than of organic, other than of functional disorders produced by overtaxed nervous forces in the body itself.

3. To meet the needs of the conditions, as we would find them - these taken in time, and taken rather consistently, and care taken of the physical forces as related to the diet and as to the habits of the body, these will bring the near NORMAL - or a normality - back to the physical functionings of the body of [5516].

4. We would prepare this, more as a tonic and a stimuli to the physical functionings of the body:

5. To 1/2 gallon distilled water add 6 ounces of dried sage. Reduce this by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Then add beet sugar 2 ounces. Then reduce again, by slow boiling, to 1 pint. Then we would add: Gordon Gin...............................4 ounces, Extract or Essence of Ginseng..........1/4 ounce. Dissolve 15 grains of Ambergris in 1 ounce of alcohol and add to solution. Cinnamon (preferably in the stick).......1 dram. Shake the solution together before the dosage is taken, which would be a teaspoonful 4 times each day, just before meals and just before retiring.

6. We would have, at least every OTHER day, a thorough OSTEOPATHIC manipulation, setting up the drainages, and to act as a distributor, equalizing the circulation throughout the body.

7. In the matter of the diet - beware of meats, unless of the wild game. This would be something of a pattern for the diet:

8. Cereals or citrous fruit of mornings.

9. Lunch - a liquid diet, with at least two green vegetables - whether of carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, celery, or such nature. This would be of some soup, preferably vegetable - or of beef, chicken, mutton - or a like nature; not too much grease in same.

10. Evenings - preferably vegetables that grow ABOVE the ground; spinach, lentils, cabbage, peas, beans, and such. These will be taken with a LITTLE of any stimuli. Ovaltine or cereal drinks are preferable to those of teas or coffee, though coffee may be taken in early morning, but a very small quantity.

11. Do this, and - as we find - we will bring about the normal conditions for this body, [5516].

12. For those conditions as produce irritation in the capillary circulation, especially where the lymph glands are closest to the surface, an application of any ointment that is soothing - and that does NOT carry mineral salts - will be helpful.
