1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5555]. This we have had before. Now, we find changes with the physical forces of the body from that as we have had before. Most of these are for the betterment, though there are some accentuations in the system from the strain and stimulation as has been produced in the mesenteric system; for we find this condition: With the strain of the diet, to meet the needs - or to prepare the system where there might be the basis for the beginning of the proper correction and adjustments for the physical forces - the amount of the gastric juices was reduced. With the beginning of diet, the over abundance of the secretions were brought into the system. With the strain of a purgative (We shouldn't have given so much of these at once, or the alternation of these), there became the excitement to the lymphatics throughout the system, as to cause cramping through the assimilating centers, or through that of the lacteals in the system. Then, this pain along the side and through the abdomen, is the result of these conditions - see?
2. Now, to change these, we would find it will be necessary to flush the system, that these may be eliminated - see? A mild cathartic, in the form of effervescence salts, or phosphates, see? These would be the better. Leave off any cathartics for the time being. Begin with those of a nearer basis for the digestive system, that will be stimulating. Now, we will change from all of these that have been given, at the present. This does not mean forever, nor for weeks, nor for a long period - but to meet the needs of the conditions at PRESENT - see?
3. First we would give, then, a teaspoonful, or a heaping teaspoonful, Phosphate of Soda - effervescence - or Fleet's may be given - Fleet's Phosphate of Soda. Either of these may be given - teaspoonful of that. This will cause some cramping, to be sure, but this may be worked more easily through the system, and the gastric juices will assimilate

better with these characters, or properties.
4. We would massage the back, across the kidneys, and to the lower portion of the back. Gently - not too deep - but be well were equal parts of olive oil and tincture of myrrh used after the rub, and this massaged thoroughly into the system. Then gently sponged off with dry cloth - not wet.
5. For the diet - we would begin with those of a small amount of spirits frumenti, cooking the yolk of the egg with same. Then adding milk, and beating the white with cinnamon - that this may settle the stomach; not too much at a time. Keep this cool. Also any of the light wine may be given, if this is obtainable - or grape juice may be given, if it is cool, or cold. These characters of stimuli will aid the system in meeting the needs at the present time. Broths of fowl, or of beef, may be given - NOT the meats. These characters of stimuli will aid the body.
6. After the changes come about, and it becomes necessary to use cathartics - then we may turn again to these; remembering that there must be something in the system for that stimuli in the aloes or the phenophthalein to act UPON, see? for these excite the gastric juices, especially when the assimilating portions of system are considered. Ready for questions. We are through with this reading.
