Time of Reading 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: We have the body here, [5609]. In many respects we find the general physical conditions show much improvements from that as we have had here before. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) Can you define any improvement in colitis condition? (A) There is not as much congestion in the inner portions of colon, and there is a DEFINITE change in those portions or regions where prolapsus, in a form, has been existent. Hence the changes that have been necessary, for PERIODS of treatments in these directions and periods of rest; for as long as there is the tendency for areas within the colon proper, where impulses from the nerve centers and the activities are hindered from such in their normal action, through the action of the intestine, or the peristaltic movement, there must be conditions recurrent where there would be troubles, from the activities within this area, at times causing sour stomach, belching or the like, the tendency for the folds within the lower portion or area of the intestine itself - but this is gradually being eliminated, and as the general condition improves so must this also improve. Do not become over anxious, that this may be expected to be eradicated or eliminated entirely at once - but, as it has been long in forming, or conditions accumulating as to cause disorders, so must it be a development or normal growth that would build for normalcy in its activity. Much easier to destroy than to build up! Follow then, those suggestions in these directions, as for the irrigations occasionally, the mindfulness of the diet and of the activities of the body.

3. (Q) Shall I take an irrigation when I resume treatments? If so, how often thereafter? (A) About once a month, unless necessary for emergency conditions.

4. (Q) Should cold and hot changes of sitz baths be taken, or hot baths only, or cold baths only?

5609-4 Page 2

(A) Better the alterations, for as the body - through its emunctory circulation - is capable of adjusting itself to sudden changes, makes for a more normal activity in the whole action of the system, whether internally or superficially - this would be the better plan.

5. (Q) What period each treatment? Any definite temperature? (A) That sufficient to make a change in the superficial circulation, rather than such sudden change as to make too great a change in the internal circulation - see? Then, about eighty to ninety - to fifty - to forty-five to fifty.

6. (Q) What period each treatment? (A) Sufficient period to make changes. Use some common judgement with it!

7. (Q) What causes pain and sometimes cramps in solar plexus region to the left? (A) That area in the descending colon that makes for that portion that has been suffering under prolapsus. Would the body care to experiment sufficient, and go to the expense of PROVING this for self - make an X-Ray of the condition!

8. (Q) As mentioned in previous reading, will colon be normal after next period of treatment? (A) It SHOULD be normal after next period of treatment. That DEPENDS, to be sure, upon the RESPONSE of the body, the body's activities, in EVERY way.

9. (Q) Would Lacto-Dextrin, if taken continuously, help me? and how should it be taken? (A) Lacto-Dextrin would be well, but - as WE find - the psyllium, or psylla, would be better for the distention of, and work better with, the ministrations, than that of Lacto-Dextrin; for that will tend (the Lacto-Dextrin) to STRENGTHEN the muscles of the intestines, sure! but with the activity of the psylla, or psyllium, will - as we find - make for a NORMAL activity of the peristaltic or the INTESTINAL reaction IN bulk, and its culture through the system, than would those of the medicant.

10. (Q) Have I taken the mercury quartz lamp too much? (A) As we find, there have been one or two periods when there has been a tendency to over relax internally. This has not been MATERIALLY detrimental, but has tended to make for a weakness. This taken as GIVEN would be the better.

11. (Q) Is there any liquid or food I am now taking harmful to my ailment? (A) Only those that tend to make for too much acid for the system. Well that the body study some what food values and their effect, especially UPON the individual condition. These may be BEST judged by the body itself - and use its own noodle some!

12. (Q) Is there any liquid or food especially good for my ailment? (A) As has been outlined, that as acts WITH the foods, taken with the foods. Do not take too much of same; a tablespoonful of the psyllium - see - in four tablespoonsful of hot water, taken morning OR evening WITH the food - would be the better way to take same, and would be an addition to the whole general health of the body.

13. (Q) Shall I continue all or part of H. J. Reilly's exercises? (A) Would be well, as we find, to continue all for at least half of the next treatments - see? period of treatments. Those as would be gradually left off would be too much of that exercise that calls for the dilation of the body from the diaphragm upward, either in heat or in exercise.

14. (Q) Should they be done during rest periods, as well as treatment periods? (A) Best through the treatment periods, and not through the rest periods - though some setting-up exercises would be beneficial through rest period.

15. (Q) What is occasional pain I get in right side? (A) Pressure on the colon, through CAECUM area, from the LACK of dilation in transverse and descending colon.

16. (Q) If an enema at home is necessary, what medicants should it contain, and in what proportion? (A) The best, as we would find, would be in this proportion. A gallon of water - add a level teaspoonful of baking soda, and a quarter teaspoonful of common salt.

17. (Q) Shall I consider a medical doctor, or would you recommend another osteopath? (A) As we would find, the manipulative measures will be much more effective for the body than those of medicants.

18. (Q) Should treatments be continued as before; that is, twice a week sitz bath and manipulations every time for three weeks, then rest four weeks? (A) Rather as outlined. In the beginning those that require the whole treatment, for the first week - or first week and one treatment; then leave off too much of the manipulations, or the manipulations that AFFECT especially those PORTIONS of the body ABOVE the diaphragm. That's plain - just do that!

19. (Q) What causes nausea occasionally, and what shall I take to remedy it? (A) Take the treatments that have been outlined - and it'll remedy it!

20. (Q) Why have stools been loose, almost to diarrhea? (A) At TIMES these are produced by the character of the foods that have been taken, and TOO much relaxation in those of the area as indicated.

21. (Q) Has the activity of the sphincter muscle improved? (A) Considerable!

22. (Q) Can I discontinue wearing cotton? or when? (A) When there is the NORMAL activity of the whole of the colon area.

23. (Q) Any further suggestions? (A) Follow these, as we will find - and we will bring about the better normal conditions for this body, [5609].

24. We are through with this reading.
