1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5633]. Now, we find, while the body very good in many respects, there are disturbances in the physical functioning of the body, and these conditions allowed to continue would bring about conditions that would be much harder to cope with than at present. These, as we find, have to do with the eliminations as are effective by improper coordination of eliminations; that is, we find nominally that various forces as are to be eliminated have various channels through which such eliminations are carried, but when some portion of the functioning organism becomes so clogged, or pressures are produced that prevent proper pulsation, or proper incentive through that portion of the system the rest of the system suffers according to the amount of disturbance created in the system. Here we find these conditions existent, then, with this body, [5633], we are speaking of, present in this room:
2. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this low in certain elements as are necessary to keep an equilibrium, produced by the EFFECT of the drosses as carried IN the blood stream. Hence those conditions as are a RESULT of this are seen in the extremities. These are especially seen from the radial plexus in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, and are felt in the brachial reflexes; that is, the form of a pressure on the nerves as come through these centers, causing in the joints and end of sinew distress at times to the body. The SAME condition in this region, WITH that pressure in the 5th and 6th CERVICAL, affect directly the circulation and the effect of LYMPH reaction in the head, throat, the neck. Also that pressure in the SYMPATHETIC cardiac causes that condition in the bronchia. The EFFECT to be WARNED against is that this, unless corrected, would naturally affect the lung. No condition there at present, but irritations.
3. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, AND SYSTEMS, here we find pressure,
5633-1 Page 2
as indicated in the cerebrospinal, in the upper dorsal and the lower cervical. Also in the lower dorsal and 5th lumbar. These lower are, however, reflexes from the conditions as are from STRAIN of overtaxation of the physical forces of the body, and are reflex.
4. In the effect as produced in the FUNCTIONING ORGANISM:
5. Here we find, again, rather those conditions as are a RESULT, and NOT a CAUSE of disturbance. As is seen, the unpleasantness felt at times in head. Not exactly a headache, not exactly a swimming in head. Rather a dizziness, coming more from the central portion, or over the face, eyes, and to the temple.
6. In the throat, bronchia and lungs - here we find SYMPATHETIC IRRITATION at times to the mucus PRODUCING portions of system. Naturally the tissue in soft portions, as in antrum, in nasal cavity, in the head, all at times show a distress to a greater or lesser degree. Not continuing, no - but when cold and congestion arises these cause distress. In the bronchia and lung, these are from that condition existent in the cervical and upper dorsal, as reflexes from pressure in that region, as has been indicated. This at times, too, gives an unpleasantness to the digestive system, reflex - a souring, as it were, of foods before digestion takes place properly.
7. The reaction from the heart's effect, necessarily, in the secondary cardiac reaction - we will FIND that OCCASIONALLY - not all times, but especially after a dizziness, or after there have been pains through the smaller portion of the back or across the lower portion of the diaphragm - the heart, apparently, skips at times. This is sympathetic, not organic, not even functional. A SYMPATHETIC condition, produced in the nerve system.
8. In the digestive system, this - as is seen - is also reflex, as is the lower hepatic circulation.
9. The liver and the digestive system below the stomach functions very good, considering the other portions in the upper part of body.
10. Then, to meet the needs:
11. Not so much overtaxation physically or mentally. This would be the better medicines for the body, WITHOUT too much of any medicinal properties, but the rest mentally, the rest physically, would be well - or not so overtaxed in this direction.
12. Correct OSTEOPATHICALLY those conditions existent in cervical, dorsal and lumbar regions, by first applying heat before the manipulations or adjustments are made.
13. Use as an antiseptic in throat, bronchials and lungs,
5633-1 Page 3
that as has been given for CLEANSING same. Inhale this deep into the lungs, both through the mouth and nostrils.
14. Well that occasionally the LIVER be aroused in activity. Not by too much of cathartics, but more by heat or diet.
15. Do that. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Is there any special treatment for the pains in wrist and stiffness in knee? (A) Yes. Correct these conditions in the dorsal and change this pressure as is created from the mesenteric system, and we will relieve these. Not DIRECTLY to these, but best remove the cause and then the trouble will subside.
17. (Q) Puffiness under eyes? (A) This produced by that as is given, in the lower hepatic circulation, or that of the sympathetic reaction between hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus, when pressure created in the upper dorsal, the natural flow is of blood to the upper part of the system, causing these conditions. This a reflex. Removing the pressures will remove the cause.
18. (Q) Does body have to be careful about over exertion or excitement on account of heart affection? (A) This, as has been given, is purely sympathetic, and NOT ORGANIC. Over taxation of the mental forces of the body, with the nerves under the STRAIN, cause the distress.
19. (Q) How often should osteopathic treatments be given? (A) Every day, and DEEP manipulation every third day.
20. (Q) How long should the osteopathic, or how many treatments would be necessary? (A) Should not require more than twenty-six.
21. (Q) Which specific inhalant is referred to? (A) As would be prepared in this: To 4 ounces of pure grain alcohol, add: Eucalyptol................10 minims, Benzosol..................10 minims, Benzoin....................5 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp......5 minims, Tolu in Solution..........25 minims. Keep in glass corked container, at least an 8 ounce container. Only shake solution when it is to be inhaled. Use this whenever there is irritation, or especially just before retiring and on arising. This will clear the throat, will remove pressure, will relieve the dizziness, and - most of all - relieve the heart reaction. We are through for the present. Copy to Self
