Time of Reading 11:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [5640]. Now, in the physical forces of the body we find there are physical disturbances, the results of which - however - are in the present magnified by the mental attitudes of the body as respecting self, and self's mental and physical condition.
2. In the disorders, as we find, those from the physical nature were produced (the causes) sometime back, in a manner when there was some kind of an unusual happening to the body; not wholly as an accident, not wholly as a coincidence; that has made for these impulses to be exaggerated in the nature as to produce those disorders that become apparent in the system. Were these NEGLECTED, with the same conditions mentally as respecting the pitying of self, these might BUILD a constitutional disorder, even to the extent of either producing that which would form a disturbance to the structural portion of the body or taking other turns by some activities of the body produce rather that which would hinder the nerves' functioning throughout the right side.
3. These, as we find then, are the conditions physically with this body, [5640] we are speaking of:
4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this is very good in every respect, save there ARE periods that the pulsations are abnormal. This not an organic disturbance; rather from a reflex disturbance to those portions of the organism that function with the respiratory and heart's action.
5. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, OR SYSTEMS, as indicated, we find the cause or seat of the disorders are here. This in the area of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and portion of the 4th and 8th dorsal, and more to the left side than on the right, or the tentative nature of the impingements from that side, PRODUCING - through the brachial center, in the dispersing or distribution of nerves to arms, hands, and to the face - the disturbance in the right portion of the body. In the
5640-1 Page 2
distribution from impulses through the locomotaries (that is, the lumbar plexus), AGAIN disturbing the right portion; as in the lower limb, the tingling sensations that occur, the trembly sensations when the body stands long, or especially if the body in resting lies in such a position that these disturbances make for increased pressure - then the easy awakening from rest, the tired languid feeling, and the tingling and trembly sensation from the attempt of the nerve supply to carry through a circulation in the right portion of body, or extremities of the body, where these impingements in the area indicated PREVENT a normal or a sudden return of circulation to those portions of the body. This also in the brachial center, reflexly, makes for those conditions where the nerves AND muscles of the face and head have the FEELING or appearance of drawing at times, and would tend to make for those conditions in the eye or the ear of an activity that is OUT of the ordinary, and abnormal to the better functioning of the system. The manner in which the pressure disturbs the assimilation of foods in the system is, as yet, only of minor nature; yet - as indicated by the character of the pressure being along the side of the ganglia of the plexus area in this portion of system - makes for a slowed circulation through head and neck, reflexly. Hence those indications of the accumulations in throat at times, the feeling of bad tastes in the mouth, the color and coating on portions of the tongue, the appearance or feeling of twitching on face, eruptions on portions of the body, especially in the neck, head, chin area, scalp at times appearing to be irritated, or SPOTS - cold and hot - come about in different portions of same. These are as WARNINGS, and are rather as of reflex conditions producing same. The mental attitude in its effect, from the character of the condition, naturally accentuates such conditions, through IMPULSE that is created to the SYMPATHETIC system, and especially so to those portions of same that affect the throat - as the tendency is at times to swallow too often, the attempt at times of the drumming in the ear to be of the nature that is not particularly disturbing - but irritating.
6. In the general FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, as indicated by the blood supply, very good as yet; but if these conditions are allowed to continue they must sooner or later be affected by the STRAIN produced MENTALLY, and - more or less ORGANICALLY - functioning.
7. In meeting, then, the needs of the conditions as we will find:
8. Specific manipulations AND adjustments, osteopathically, would CORRECT these disturbances, and ALLOW a normal flow of
5640-1 Page 3
impulse throughout the system - and to RELIEVE those tendencies, as they are relaxed by adjustments and a general manipulation.
9. We would find that the use of the Radio-Active Appliance would make for better COORDINATED forces through the extremities. This we would use for at least thirty minutes each day, PREFERABLY during the periods the body rests in the afternoon - rather than night. When used, the attachments would be made in this manner: The first day attach the anode first to the right wrist and the other anode to the left ankle. The next day attach the same anode as first attached to the right wrist to the right ankle, and the other anode as attached to the left ankle the day before would be attached to the left wrist. Each day keep alternating in this same manner.
10. The manipulations we would have two to three times each week, for at least three to four weeks. ONE of the treatments should be PRINCIPALLY that of an adjustment, while the other TWO should be rather of the GENERAL nature.
11. After one of the treatments (especially the adjustment treatment), we would apply - especially in the solar plexus area - the vibrations of the plain or regular violet ray. This will aid in EQUALIZING with the rest of that applied the general circulation and nerve distribution. IN the solar plexus area of the cerebrospinal - see? In the 10th, 11th, 12th dorsal area. This should be applied for a period of five to eight, to ten minutes. Then from one and a half to two minutes in the BRACHIAL area, one and a half to two minutes in the lumbar area - or the plexus that governs the extremities of the system.
12. The diet and activities should be NORMAL.
13. Keep about as much cheery company, cheery activities, as possible; not of self-INDULGENCE, but of that that is rather of the CONSTRUCTIVE character. Find something WORTH WHILE to interest self in, and DO IT!
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Why is it the tremor in my right hand is a little bit better about an hour and a half after I take Hyoscine? (A) Equalizing the circulation by the force of same through the disturbed portions, as has been indicated. Will we do as we have outlined, we will find these as disorders maybe found - and will be found, if properly attended to - and the corrections will bring for the body relief.
16. (Q) Why is it so hard for me to fall asleep? (A) The disturbed pressures, or disturbed nervous system from pressures, prevent that NECESSARY slowing up or equalizing of the circulation, that BRINGS the activity of
5640-1 Page 4
the consciousness being controlled by the sympathetic - or SUBCONSCIOUS forces of the body.
17. (Q) Why do I have such a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach? (A) From the area of the pressure, there are those direct connections - This is not as often, unless it is from some character of excitement that has caused a reflex from one or the other of the areas that are PARTICULARLY disturbed by those pressures in the cerebrospinal system. The reaction at times makes as of a fluttering about the heart. That's when the body swallows most. Another would be a sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach, as of over excitement. At others the effect will be as a trembling in the knees, and the body has to rest. This may come from crowds, or come from any of the excitements that bring about quick nerve reaction. All these have been described here.
18. (Q) Why am I so constipated unless I take a laxative? (A) The natural inclination of the system, where pressure exists, is to supply that of the minutia - or the fluids in system to act with nerve tension. Hence the inclination has been to slow up the peristaltic movement of the digestive system. With these corrections, and especially with the vibrations of the violet ray applied in the manner given, these will create more activity through the eliminating SYSTEMS, and ESPECIALLY through the alimentary canal. As will the general massage, when this is gone over, there will be those activities in same - with the proper treatments - that will make for an increase in the activity of the gastric forces that create eliminations through the alimentary canal. We will find that we will be gradually farther and farther away from the use of those that excite the nerve forces to increase that that causes the action, or elimination from the system.
19. (Q) Why is it I need two pairs of glasses, one for distance and one for close work? (A) This will also be corrected in a great measure when those pressures are relieved in the dorsal and cervical area, and these conditions will be on the improve. In the present, when pressures are existent as they are, they tend to PULL the reflex that causes vision. Hence, as the optometrist finds, there is more a CROSS vision. Hence the necessity of two types of vision, or lens, to SET the focal area of the vision proper. If they would treat the cause, rather than the effect, it would be much better - as we have outlined!
20. (Q) Why is my vitality so low? I am so lacking in pep. (A) This disturbed circulation, this exhaustion that comes
5640-1 Page 5
from the pressures that are changing continually about in system, as has been indicated.
21. That is all the questions.
22. Do as we have outlined, and we will find that in a few weeks there will be a MATERIAL BETTERMENT for the body.
23. Do not neglect that portion: Find something of interest in another, and keep self busy at it - rather than thinking of self!
