Time of Reading At her home, near 5:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [5653]. Now, we find there are the complication of conditions as cause distress with this body. These, however, we find, may be altered or changed until there will be a much EASIER experience, and much better physical forces. These, we find, have to do - in their basic forces - from the poor eliminations as have long existed in the system, with definite obstructions brought about by same, and then the results of these obstructions affecting directly the locomotion; so that we have that as may be termed agitans with rheumatics, that has caused the greater distresses. These make for the troubles with the locomotion, the inabilities of the activities, the pain and distress as is caused in the body when there is attempt for movement; the nausea and temperature, and the inability of activity; yet the physical forces tenaciously hold to that of attempting to adjust themselves to meet the needs of the conditions, or to function in spite OF the distresses as have been wrought in the body.

2. These, as we find, will require very CLOSE attention, being very mindful of the diets and of the keeping of the functioning of the liver and kidneys, until we may eliminate sufficient of the poisons and the hindrances from the system that there may be builded in the blood forces - and through the blood supply - sufficient vitality to bring about resuscitation in the physical functionings of the body itself.

3. Then, to begin, we would prepare first as this - these would be combined together in the order and in the manner as outlined:

4. First we would take 1/2 gallon of rain water, or distilled water. To this we would add Wild Cherry Bark (this is to act as an active force with the gastric juices of the stomach, as well as a carrier for the rest of the

5653-1 Page 2

system, acting with the respiratory system) 1 ounce; Sarsaparilla Root (which is as a blood purifier in this particular condition and case) 1 ounce; Black Snake Root 1/2 ounce - this being as an emit, and as an active force in gastric juices, in the combination with the others. These we would reduce, by slow boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Strain, then add - after this has cooled: Tincture of Stillingia.................1/4 ounce, Syrup of Rhubarb.......................1/2 ounce, Podophyllum (dried or powdered)..........1 grain, Elixir or Tincture of Buchu Leaves......10 minims. Then cut Balsam of Tolu 1 dram - in 2 ounces of 85% alcohol - and add to the solution.

5. Shake solution together before the dose is taken, which would be half a teaspoonful every 4 hours - unless the body is resting, see?

6. Every other day we would apply - across the whole of the liver area - the packs or stupes of castor oil. Wring flannel cloths - of sufficient size to cover the area - out of oil as hot as the body is able to stand same. Place across or next to the skin and over the liver area. Then cover same with cloths as to HOLD the heat. Let this remain until it has well cooled, and bathe off with tepid water when removed. Keep these packs up until there is the full activity through the intestinal tract, and until the pains in the area are relieved.

7. Over the lower abdomen and across the lower portion of the SMALL of the back, we would alter with those saturated solutions of Epsom Salts AND stupes of equal parts of turpentine, camphor and mutton tallow in combination - that is, these three. Put on cloths - preferably that as of BANDAGE cloths, see? not flannel, but BANDAGE cloths - 2 or 3 thicknesses. Then heat this and lay over the area, lower portion of abdomen and across the small of the back - just BELOW the kidney area. This, as we find, will RELIEVE these distresses - these pains. These would be given every 3rd day, see? but ALTERED in their application; that is, if on the first day the saturated solution of Epsom Salts is used on back, use the turpentine, camphor and mutton tallow on the abdomen. The next time this is applied, reverse - the mutton tallow, the camphor, the turpentine, would be on back, see?

8. As to the stimuli taken internally, these would merely be that especially of the tea from Yellow Saffron - about 1 to 20; that is, 1 ounce to 20 ounces of water, see? steeped as

5653-1 Page 3

ordinary tea. We would also use elm in the water that is taken a pinch between thumb and forefinger for a full glass, but stir same with small quantities of iced water, not ice IN the water, but ICED water. Do not let this stand, for it soon is unfit for use when standing, unless kept on ice - and this is dangerous if kept over 6 to 8 hours. Then, make fresh each time it is given as drink.

9. In the food values given, those of beef JUICES - not broths - or, if broths, only of wild game - but let this be more the JUICES than of the broths as made from other ingredients. Fruits that are of the citrous nature, or the juices of same. This would be as the meals for the day, see?

10. The juices of the fruits in morning.

11. The juices of vegetables, no matter of what nature or character - NOT as heavy food itself, but the JUICES of same - in noon meal.

12. The gruels in body may be given in evenings. The JUICES of the meats, or broths, may be given as medicine - and should NOT be given in large quantities - never more than a tablespoonful at one time; that, even, only in small sips. These may be given every 2 hours if necessary, between the meals - see?

13. Do this for the body for 18 to 20 days. Then we would give changes, when these have brought about that necessary effect. We are through for the present. Copy to Mr. [...] " " Ass'n office " " Research Department " " Dr. Lydic
