Time of Reading Cayce Hospital, 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va. (Questions)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5671]. This we have had before. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) Have the local treatments for hemorrhoids been beneficial? (A) Been beneficial, but are aggravating to the conditions as are being corrected in the lumbar, sacral and lower dorsal regions.

3. (Q) Is it advisable to continue local treatments for hemorrhoids at the present time? (A) Not until the nervous condition and the corrections as are necessary are completed.

4. (Q) Have the local treatments for hemorrhoids retarded progress? (A) At times they have retarded progress. In the present conditions, and for those depressions as have come to the body, we would - over those portions where there is the pains and the ache - we would first apply, locally, those of tincture of laudanum, then dry salt in pack with gauze between same, and apply heat from a Vim Ray. This will reduce, will allay, and will aid the condition. We would also, with the stopping of local treatments for hemorrhoids, use - as an ointment - that of Tim. Once or twice each day, or whenever there is the passage from the bowel or system, or when itching in the rectum occurs, a little application of this will be found to be effective in allaying this.

5. (Q) Why is itching increased after using Cuticura ointment in the vulva? (A) From the secretions as are produced by the local treatment in rectum. This produces the irritation from the overexertion of the nerve forces as are under suppression, attempting to throw off the condition, and the drainage in system is thrown off. With the allaying of the conditions, this will be found to be more effective. We would USE this, but we would CHANGE that as given in the applications for the condition in rectum. We would, too, continue those of the cleansing of the colon, until ALL the fecal matter, and

5671-5 Page 2

all of those conditions as tend to form pus IN same, is entirely removed. Not so often that irritation is produced, but as long as there is seen that the fecal matter is being removed, and until there is able to cleanse this colon from the upper portion, or the ascending even to the WHOLE of same, this would be well to be done.

6. (Q) Just how often colonic irrigation? (A) That will depend considerably upon the response to the body, or the response OF the body to the applications, and how much the body is on the feet. Twice a week is not TOO often, but at times ONCE a week, or once in two weeks, may prove better. Dependent upon the condition and how digestion and elimination takes place. For where there has been the tendency, as has been given, or prolapsus above the 2nd of the muscular forces, as prevent eliminations, and the fecal matter has gathered in the folds, these MUST be removed. IRRITATING of these, naturally, calls for a greater amount of blood supply to meet the needs, and produces an ENORMOUS amount of itching, or irritation to the exterior portions - also increasing the excretions as are thrown off by the organs of the pelvis through the vagina, and THIS produces irritation in and about the puba, and the puba bone - see?

7. (Q) Would it be well to give the ultra violet ray to those parts affected? (A) Provided they are not of too LONG a duration, and not given too often - for they will produce, at first, rather that of the itching sensation, and this to the body would appear as IRRITATING, rather than assisting - but if the drainage is kept by the relaxing, osteopathically, of those centers through which the subluxations or the impingements have been produced, we would soon throw off this.

8. (Q) Would it be advisable for patient to remain in hospital a while longer? (A) Until this condition is at least allayed. While the body may CHANGE for a day or two days, or three days, but NOT at such a time that irritation by such changes would produce too much distress and set the condition back in the beginning.

9. (Q) Is it necessary for the patient to leave hospital for treatment in order to carry out the reading? (A) No.

10. (Q) Any other suggestions for this body? (A) Be patient and follow the readings closely, as are outlined here, and we will find the body will soon be near NORMAL - for the conditions are being corrected in the system, and when the adjustments are complete, and when the

5671-5 Page 3

system has responded to these portions - we would keep as much ALKALIN as is normal, see - or an EXCESS at the present. Be well were small doses of Bicarbonate of Soda taken REGULARLY.

11. That is all the questions.

12. Do that, and we will find the conditions will be corrected with this body. We are through for the present. Copy to Dr. Berger (to be delivered to patient on leaving hospital) " " Ass'n office " " Cayce Hospital " " Dr. Parker
