Horseshoe Bayou of Time of Reading Choctowatchee Bay, 4:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Walton County, Florida.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [943], present in this room, and the treasure that is said to be located in Horseshoe Bayou of Choctowatchee Bay, Walton County, Florida. You will give full information as to how it may be located and proper procedure to recover it. You will answer the questions I will ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [943] - this we have had before. Also that information as has been given him respecting treasure in Horseshoe Bayou, Choctowatchee Bay, close to Florida.

3. Now, the information - now this may be dealt with from more than one standpoint. The information as has been given to the body [943] is correct, in so far as the treasure being in this place. The Bayou, though, is in error - as it is nearer the next Bayou than in Horseshoe. Horseshoe extending more toward the West than that Bayou that is in the proper direction from which the treasure chests in question may be located. Now the ridge that is formed by Horseshoe Bayou, as it extends into the Bay - from the East side - Now we are on the East side, see? of Horseshoe Bayou, as this extends - that is, the uprising land where the division proper comes, near the edge of this point these may be located. These are in THIS shape: One was lowered from the larboard, the other from the prow, and the other from the bow. These leave the directions, then, in distance, from the eighty foot launch in which these were cast overboard from. Then in this position would they be found, in nearly a fan-shape - see? One from lar (central), prow, and bow. These leaving in this direction.

4. To obtain these we would seek a period when there is low tide, and preferably at the height of a full moon. That sounds funny, doesn't it? Here: In the action of the MOONLIGHT, with reflections under same and at low tide, there will be found shadows from that which may be located,

half buried, much easier than from strong light which reflects back to one's vision, see? Seek it then at such a time, and this may be located. To the extreme East end, then, of Horseshoe Bayou, toward the ridge as comes to the next Bayou from that direction - from the East.

5. (Q) Can information be given as to whom should assist [943]? (A) Any of those who are as sincere in their intent and purpose as the body of [943], in what they would do with it if they had it - in cash! See, this is not only in doubloons, but in bar also.

6. (Q) Give name of party hiding treasure and present value? (A) Heiney - and present value, that would be hard to estimate. Some of the things would be more valuable as heirlooms and as keepsakes than as the intrinsic value of same would be. It's plenty - sufficient to hunt for!

7. (Q) Has search ever been made here for this treasure? (A) And by how many!

8. (Q) Did they search in right location? (A) Some have gone very close to the location - many have gone right over location, but were seeking farther inland, or farther TOWARDS land than the treasure lay - for, as you see, with the ridge as projects from the Eastern part of the Bayou, there is a longer point of land there than is farther West, or farther East - but the East ridge of the Horseshoe Bayou - see? at low tide, something like - varying, of course, to the high or low tide - or running high or running low - six to eight feet water.

9. (Q) Would a machine for locating buried treasure assist in locating this? (A) And would find many more! In the various Bayous. See, there's a location not so far below this where there's nearly as great a treasure - but find this one first and we will locate this one. This will assist. Many along the coast are the treasures that have been sought. Some have been located; not a great period ago since those from the Bells were taken, in the Eastern end of the next bay - Chicktuck Bayou.

10. (Q) Any other information that can be given that would assist [943] in locating and recovering this treasure? (A) Go over this portion of this district in an easy going scow or boat, with the instruments as would locate metals, silver and gold, and these will assist in aiding the individuals in locating this - but may be better seen, NOT as of one attempting secrecy, but by moonlight objects in water may be seen much better than by sunlight.

11. We are through with this reading.
