Time of Reading 3:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of Mrs. [5678], present in this room, who seeks advice, counsel and guidance, in her mental and material affairs. You will answer the questions which she will ask regarding these.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Mrs. [5678], and those conditions in the mental and material that confront the body at this time.
3. In the attitudes as may be had by the body, these - as respecting mental and material conditions - ARE those things, those elements, that the body must face with that knowledge that there is an all-wise-providence, and that with the keeping in self of an ideal there is strength, comfort, understanding, that enables the body to meet the conditions which arise from day to day with the knowledge that He doeth all things well.
4. In that manner of mental outlook will the body find those abilities growing in self, for the steps are to be taken day by day, and sufficient unto today be that grace, that fortitude, that understanding, that will enable the mental forces to keep that balance that makes not afraid. Rather let those conditions come, then, as they may, knowing that He will give within self that knowledge of the Right to be done at the right time.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) What is the best thing for me to do to take care of my children and myself? (A) In the existent conditions as regarding the material things that surround the body, well that - as soon as possible - there be the proper consideration of disposing of that portion or part of holdings that becomes rather, under the circumstances, a liability than an asset. Then, prepare self in a manner that will enable the body to meet those conditions, through the use of that in hand to meet those emergencies; following rather that idea and ideal which has
5678-1 Page 2
long been a desire of the body, in those directions that will enable the body to find the greater expression of that which has been the desire, the dream, in those directions.
7. (Q) What special kind of work should I undertake? (A) That which has been outlined, or that which has been so OFT outlined by self as respecting that it would desire to do.
8. (Q) Would I be successful in selling life insurance? (A) Were this included in the sick and accident also, would be very agreeable to the body - for the present, and LEAD to that outlet which has been sought.
9. (Q) Is it best for my children and I to make our home with my sister, at ..., ..., Va.? (A) At least until conditions have adjusted themselves in a manner that will enable the body to carry on, in a way that would be more satisfactory, would be well. Especially would it be well while disposition is being made of the property, or the holdings, as has been suggested, and until the conditions and the abilities have drawn sufficient to the activity to make - for the body and those dependent upon same - the better application of self.
10. (Q) Advise me regarding selling our home at ..., ..., Va.? (A) Under the conditions and existing circumstances, it would be well that this be disposed of. To be sure, under the existent financial strains that are apparent in every section, this would sound rather as NOT good policy, yet the CONDITIONS - and accumulations that would come from holding under the present circumstance - would make it rather that the sooner this might be accomplished the better; and there has been some suggestion as to one handling same - this would be well.
11. (Q) Does this refer to Mr. Walter Blick as the best one to handle this for me? (A) This would be well.
12. (Q) Advise me regarding the lots at 125th St., [Later numbered 87th St.?, Va. Beach] Cape Henry, Va.? (A) As these are in a position where they may be held, these we would NOT advise disposing of under the present depressions. These may be handled or held rather as that ability to carry on at a future time, or there may be made THROUGH same some association or connection in the next two or three years where these may be made to be very valuable. Why dispose of them, then, unless this becomes NECESSARY for meeting other circumstances or conditions, under such depression prices?
13. (Q) What would be a fair price, or the right price, for my home?

(A) The valuations that have been made are about sixty percent of the correct value, and - as we find - these may be obtained in a proportion to that, of about that near that valuation ABOVE that which has been set, see? that is, sixty percent MORE than the valuations have been set for same.
14. (Q) Advise me in regard to settlement of the partnership of Armistead & Borum, real estate? (A) These, as we find, may be settled in an equitable way and manner. While it will require some little time that these be disposed of to the best advantage for all concerned, these may be handled in a manner that will be satisfactory to all concerned. That is, it is to be implied from this: Do not, without the absolute necessity, so CROWD or demand an immediate change or settlement as to jeopardize the best interests of self and those dependent upon self; for the properties, holdings, and the conditions and surroundings, have a much better valuation by there being SUFFICIENT time given for the settlement - see?
15. (Q) Shall I still keep Agnes DeLoatch in my employ? (A) As the circumstances come about, these are well for the present - but a little later these conditions may be changed.
16. (Q) In regard to my children: What line of endeavor would it be advisable for my daughter [...] to undertake? (A) As we find, these will take rather that natural course of events in the developing of, and in the way or manner of line in which her developments will come. Rather advise, counsel, and through the acts and associations keep the direction of the mental FORCES of the body in that way and manner that has so oft been set. Do not force issues; rather let them take their natural course. While as to those conditions in regard to the OTHER member of the family, or associations, these will require some sternness; though not in the way and manner as of producing that condition which makes for COMBATIVENESS; rather that sternness which makes for an even balancing OF those developing years of the body.
17. (Q) Along what lines should the education of my son [...] be continued? (A) Rather in those that will partake of some definite activity as relating to waters, or water crafts.
18. (Q) What should be his life's work? (A) As we find, these would come more as the inclinations - which will be more in these directions of water, or water crafts.
19. (Q) Is there any spiritual advice that will help me to
5678-1 Page 4
carry on? (A) Keep in that manner as has been given that should be the attitude of the mental body, in relation to holding that as the ideal that will bring for self those conditions which make for the closeness of that within self, which awakens for the abilities to become accentuated through the SPIRITUALITY - and spiritualizing OF the abilities of the body.
20. (Q) Advise me regarding money owing Agnes DeLoatch by Armistead & Borum? (A) This, as we find, will of necessity require some serious consideration on the part of these, as respecting the settlements that will be made. These, as we find, will come through their regular channels for the proper consideration and handling of same.
