1. GC: You will locate the well drilled on Section 19, Township 54, Range 35, Dade County, Florida. You will give the present drilled depth of this well. You will also tell us why oil was not located in this well, and what is causing the water pressure. You will answer any questions regarding this that may be asked.
2. EC: Yes, we have the well here. This we have had before. The present drilled depth is twenty-five forty-seven (2547). The present depth of the hole twenty-five seventy-eight (2578).
3. The cause of not locating oil in this drilled hole was that those stratas in which production may be expected were drilled past without giving proper consideration for location and the proximity of the producing strata to the production and hole drilled.
4. The water pressure caused by the presence of oil and gas in the reservoirs that lie to the south by east and west of this location. See?
5. Now, as to conditions as exist in this territory as respecting the production of oil:
6. As has been given, this may be made the largest producing oil area in this, the United States; the larger producing area being in that bend or that barrier as has been caused by the natural settling of the reservoir in which the production may be found - this lying in the east, south, southeast, southwest, and extending in that ridge up the southwestern coast of this land. The present producing area has not as yet been touched or drilled in proper form. As is shown by the nature and character of the water, one of the properties as is almost universally found is flowing in this hole made to the strata below the depth of the oil, and finding an outlet is draining off water by gas and oil pressure - sulphur in same; for, as is seen, sand, sulphur, lime, necessary for conservation, preservation, and producing of oil from animal and vegetable matter, of which all oil is the basis or product - of these basic principles,

see? for, as has been given, there are three stratums in this whole area. That of the six twenty-five to sixty-five and seventy (625 to 65 & 70), and the eighteen twenty-five to seventy-six (1825 to 76), and the twenty-two to twenty-two fifty (22 to 2250) - all of these being areas and not specific depths, unless specific locations are made or given, for oil must of necessity have its reservoir for its preservation. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) What formation did they stop drilling in? (A) In black shale and lime.
8. (Q) Have they drilled through any sand, or sandstone, lime? (A) Drilled through the area from the eighteen twenty-five to the twenty-two hundred (1825 to 2200) feet - there the producing area, and might have been made a producing well in this area by setting the strainer or the muff and the waiting for the pressure, see?
9. (Q) Can this well be made a producing oil well now? (A) Not until the water runs away. The heavy pressure is such that they would be unable to plug in the normal way in the correct pressure for that of production to be brought in, for oil and water does not mix - one pushes one or the other out, see?
10. (Q) Is it possible, after the water drains out, to produce oil? (A) Possible, but would necessitate opening other holes for this to be - in this specific hole.
11. (Q) What is meant by "drilling other holes in this hole"? (A) Other holes THAN this hole. In this territory, see? for this acts much in the way and manner that were a barrel or container of water and oil plugged or punched. One hole in base would only drain water, see? while were two punched, one would bring only oil, and eventually the lower bring oil with the water - before the water was all drained. Crude application, but this shows how it may be.
12. (Q) How near to the present well should another location be made? (A) Nearer the ridge to the south and east, OR west, see? See, we have a ridge - not a high elevation, but a ridge or fold in the area or territory lying both to the southeast, south, and southwest, and extending up the southwest coast into counties far north, see? The large area will be found in the Dade area, see?
13. We are through for the present.
