1. GC: You will have before you the oil well being drilled by Neil Scroggins, under contract with the Miami Oil & Gas Company, on Section 19, Range 35, Township 54, Dade County, Florida, and you will tell us the method of procedure to drill to a depth of four thousand feet, and what will be found to this depth, and you will state what condition the present hole is in, and whether oil can be produced when water flow is exhausted. You will answer any questions I will ask you regarding this.

2. EC: Yes, we have the well, the operations, here. This we have had before. As has been given, the better field or stratum for production has been passed. Were the casing raised to the eighteen seventy-five (1875) depth, after the hole or water has been cut off - then the hole swabbed from that depth production would be brought here, see? Not in the quantity that might be gained in other locations farther to the south and west, but this would prove the better way to handle this particular operation - rather than drilling to the four thousand (4000) foot level, for we will then only encounter the hard formation, in which there will not be found production. The intake of the water in the present conditions is such that the water flow has driven the oil farther away than when we had same before, and conditions such as has been given as warning for operations in fields of this nature or character have happened to some extent.

3. In preparing same for cutting off the water, the better way would be by first sinking many sacks of dry bran, then wooden plugs, then the shrapnel or scraps, and the heavy plugs - then draw casing (when this is cut off, see, so the flow is stopped) to the eighteen seventy-five (1875), or seventy-four (74) be preferable - then swab - swab - until we will find we will draw oil and gas through this hole. That's the way this should be handled. Hasn't been handled very good so far. A great many of the conditions have been mismanaged, as to the correct way of reaching production, see?

4. (Q) Will there be any difficulty encountered in drawing

casing to this depth? (A) No difficulty, will the hole first be plugged, see? Don't draw all the way out - just draw to this depth, then swab.

5. (Q) Would it be advisable to shoot the well? (A) Swab rather than shoot. Not this formation for shots - no! Swab is producing suction, see? and suction is necessary to draw this through this stratum - for this, as has been given, while commencing slow, would increase to nearly three thousand (3000) barrels, see?

6. (Q) What would be the cost of this operation? (A) Handled correctly, may be done for twenty-seven hundred dollars ($2700) - twenty-seven hundred and seventy-seven dollars ($2777).

7. That is all the questions on this reading.

8. There are many other conditions as respecting oil operations in this vicinity, for information may be obtained or given as regarding same. Never handle it under these same operators, though, if we would receive production here!

9. We are through for the present.
